BURLINGTON, MA (November 13, 2023) – City Building Engineering Services (CBES), global leader in end-to-end professional services, brought together industry peers and partners to discuss the path forward for natural refrigerants during its first annual CBES Summit on October 12 – 13, 2023.
This year’s theme, The Path Forward for Natural Refrigerants, highlights the importance of reducing a reliance on high Global Warming Potential (GWP) refrigerants and facilitating a transition to next-generation alternatives such as carbon dioxide (CO2) to support a more sustainable future for the retail and food retail industry.
The two-day event was held in partnership with Hillphoenix, leading manufacturer of display cases, specialty products, commercial refrigeration systems, alternative refrigerants, CO2 refrigeration, power systems and comprehensive services for the food retail industry. Other event partners included Emerson Copeland, Baltimore Aircoil (BAC), Flo Energy Solutions and Danfoss Alsense. Together, they welcomed over 150 attendees in the retail, professional services, engineering and energy solutions sectors who are all looking to natural refrigerants as the eco-friendly way forward.
The first day of the summit consisted of a well-rounded mix of interactive engineering-based classes (with topics ranging from The Application of C02 as a Natural Refrigerant and C02 Systems Design and Architecture to Debunking Myths Around C02 Booster Systems and the Regulatory Impact of the AIM Act), vendor exchanges, meals and after-hours socials. The second day was comprised of technical trainings geared towards CO2 design, installation, and operation.
